Daylight savings time has never made sense to me, but as a parent of preschoolers I like it even less than I used to. But one way I’ve found to help kids adjust is by starting early. So on Thursday we moved their bed time up by 30 minutes. Then on Saturday or Sunday it’ll be easier to move it up another 30 minutes.
The other trick – perhaps the harder one - is for parents to do the same.
I’d like to say it gets easier as they get older, but I drove a certain middle schooler to school today. He woke up 4 min before the bus came. It’s so nice that we are close! And an added bonus…I had to shovel my driveway before breakfast. Good to get it done early.
You didn’t make a certain middle schooler shovel?
