I came across some notes I’d taken some years ago when listening to a message by Chuck Swindoll. I hang on to them because every time I read them, I am struck again by how true the statements are. I don’t remember what exactly he was preaching about. What I do remember is that he said there are few things we can claim are always true, but these statements are always true:

Surprises are always a part of God’s leading.
Those surprises always intensity our need for faith.
Stepping out in faith always results in clarifying God’s plan.
Obedience always stimulates growth.

Reflecting on your own faith journey, I imagine you can think of instances that confirm these truths.
