Growing up in TX I had never heard of rhubarb pie (or even rhubarb)! I first learned of it when Bob was in Dallas seminary, and after church one Sunday evening when we were just getting to know each other, he shared with me a piece of rhubarb pie that his mom had sent him from Michigan. It was very delicious and nothing similar to any pies I had ever eaten! After moving here to MN a neighbor gave us a rhubarb plant and now it too is showing up! Perhaps soon I’ll get out Bob’s mom’s recipe and try making a pie again. Or rhubarb crisp! Yum!!
Yes. Rhubarb crisp (https://1stteacher.wordpress.com/2011/06/23/rhubarb/) may be my favorite. My husband took some to work several years ago and a few colleagues (who had grown up in Minneapolis) tried it for the first time. Can’t imagine… I grew up eating it every spring.
